Business Capability Inventory searches when Application are defined for a specific Organization

Hello all,

I have a little challenge for Application Portfolio Management with multiple organizations.

When assigning an Application to a Business Capability or Business Context (Process), it is possible to determine for which Organization is this relationship valid. So, for example, you could say that:

SAP CRM automates Customer Management for US
Salesforce automates Customer Management for UK

When creating a Business Capabilities search in the inventory (Both organizations use the same BC Map), the result shows both applications supporting the same Capability:

BC                                             Applications
Customer Management            SAP CRM;Salesforce

Is there a way to specify in the search criteria to show Applications to Business Capability relations valid for one Organization only…. The desired result is (assuming the Organization is “US”):

BC                                              Applications
Customer Management             SAP CRM

Thanks for the help

Dear Paco,

thanks for your enquiry. Yes this is possible through our constraining relations: https://docs-eam.leanix.net/docs/adding-and-editing-data-in-fact-sheets#constraining-relations

These are enabled for the relations you described. Within the Business Context and Business Capability relation you can select “Relation valid for:” to define the respective Organization.

Let me know if there are open questions!

KR, Luca

@Paco Quiroz you needn’t go to the extra data management of adding constraining relationships, use the filter panel (show/hide) the facets and filter first by the specific business capability and then you can refine to just show the required organisation(s) which should be a subset. In the example below 18 applications support a specific capability but only 4 are providing that capability to a specific organisation (US).
