Hello SAP Community,I have a question regarding how to maintain location information for IT Components. Some of our IT Components are used or hosted in multiple locations, for example data centers, cloud environments, or office locations. It would be very useful to visualize these locations on a map and also use them in reports. As you know, there is a limitation on the Location field, which can be used for only one location.I am considering a few possible options, but I am not sure which one is the best practice:Use the Organization field This field is currently hidden for IT Components, and my understanding is that its purpose is to show which organization uses the applications. I am not sure if it is appropriate to use this field for location information, as it may mix location data with application usage. Add a free-text field under Location I could create a text field for locations, but I am concerned that this would be difficult to use consistently in reports and dashboards. Use P

Hi Everyone,I’m looking for guidance on how to handle minor version changes of IT Components in SAP LeanIX.For example:Java 8 Update 481 Java 8 Update 491 Java 8 Update 501Do we create a separate fact sheet for each version/update, or only for major version changes? Also, when do we decide to create separate fact sheets, and what is the best way to model version details if LeanIX is not integrated with a CMDB?I’d appreciate any practical recommendations or best practices on how to keep this manageable without losing important lifecycle and version information. Thanks in advance!

When the updates are releasing for Inventory: Subtype-specific permissions

How can Add field UserID in automation when fact sheet has been created?I’m trying to send an email after Application (fact sheet) has been created but, I only can send Fact Sheet ID and Fact Shee name.If someone could help me please.

I’m excited to join the LeanIX community and start engaging with fellow practitioners who are passionate about Enterprise Architecture, application transparency, and driving meaningful business transformation.I work closely with ERP modernization, SAP S/4HANA transformations, and IT landscape optimization, with a strong focus on connecting business strategy to technology execution. A big part of my work involves helping organizations gain clarity into their application portfolios, dependencies, and roadmaps which is exactly where LeanIX brings tremendous value.I’m particularly interested in:Application portfolio rationalization and lifecycle management Linking business capabilities, processes, and applications Supporting clean‑core and cloud transformation journeys Using LeanIX together with tools like SAP Signavio, Cloud ALM, and automation platforms to create an end‑to‑end transformation storylineI’m looking forward to learning from your experiences, exchanging best practices, and co

Hello everyoneI’m trying to get EOL date in lifecycle, this is because I need to validate if the lifecycle date is still active or has already expired. In case it has ended, I need to change the risk status value to unacceptable, with a calculable field. The issue is that when I try to do that, it shows me this error. Could someone help me?this picture is the base field to get the date, to validate against todayThis is the issue:

Hello everyone,@ces and I are currently exploring whether it would make sense to launch a dedicated Telecommunications User Group within the community like the ones we have for Healthcare.Check our discussion here. Before we move forward, we’d love to understand how many active members here belong to the telecommunications space — and whether this is something you would find valuable. How you can helpIf you’re part of the Telecommunications industry, just drop a quick “hello” to introduce yourself below along with:Your role Your company (optional) Your thoughts on whether a dedicated Telco user group would be useful or interesting for youYour feedback will help us understand the level of interest and whether we should take the next step toward creating a focused group. Thanks,Shreenith

I’m trying to run poll using APIs, I’m using this URL https://Mycompany.leanix.net/services/poll/v2/pollRuns/ + ID, but doesn’t work, I would like to change the status from draft to live

Hi Community! My name is Andrés. I'm working as a Senior Solution Architect for Movistar ArgentinaWe're taking our first steps toward implementing SAP Leanix. I'm very happy to join the community to share knowledge and experiences.I'm currently taking the Leanix training courses at https://learning.sap.com/ and I'm having a problem: I can't connect to the Demo workspace using the username certification@leanix.net (wrong user/pass). Any help would be greatly appreciated.Best Regards

Contact me if your company in Greater China want to get support for LeanIX.

Is anyone tinkering with the MCP server? It seems to be missing fairly basic functionality like retrieving all the fact sheets of a given type. It has an action to get all applications, or to search for fact sheets of a given type, but the search doesn’t support a wildcard, so there appears to be no way to get a list of fact sheets of a given type. Has anyone run into this? Thanks -Dan

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.I'd like to ask for your guidance on two specific use cases in LeanIX:Cost Visualization: Is it possible to generate pie charts or bar graphs that show the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of applications? We only find sums of quantity, but not much configuration. And we'd like to group by specific tags for example. Is it possible? We've already have the TCO Extention  Version Management: What's the best practice for seeing evolutionary improvements in an application while maintaining its history? My goal is to track the evolution without having to create multiple new Fact Sheets for each version, thus avoiding unnecessary duplicates in the inventory.Thank you very much in advance for your recommendations!

Hello Everyone, I am quite new on LeanIX and I have some basic questions particularly Technology Architecture. I would like to create a Tehcnology Application/Solutions Buildng Blocks, ABB-SBB catalogue on LeanIX, but there is no ready excel file for that. Where should I start? In addition, I need to create Roadmap report for each and every SBB.Could lifecycle information be enough for IT components, but what about for physical data centres or cloud subscriptions? Should I also create them as IT components with their contract lifetimes?

Hello everyone. Is there anywhere I can see the factsheets’ attributes and relationships between them? I want to check the as-is-state of the whole platform, either as a logical or conceptual diagrams of them (like the image shown) Thanks in advance, community Example of conceptual diagram

Hola comunidad LeanIX. Existe una metodologia a seguir en la implementación o rollout de LeanIX?De antemano gracias por sus respuestas.Saludos,Carolina González

Im not interested in the Spanish speaking user gruop as I does not understand Spanish. :)Is it posible just to see those that Im selected to join ?

Hi everyone,as I already mentioned in my personal introduction, I`m a freshman, so I hope that question doesn`t reach to far.Where did you start, as you started with LeanIX (EA)? (I hope the following thoughts narrow down a bit what I mean.)I understood, that you should start with Business Capabilities - which kind of makes sense. In the second step, you connect the application landscape to these business capabilities. Now to the…. First question: I read, that todays approach in EA is more agile (project by project). Means for me, you shouldn`t create that monster map, that shows “all” the dependencies and connections between business and IT. Is that correct? So have you generated your first content by joining a first project (e.g. new application XY) and then iteratively grew your EA by continuing that “process” (project by project by project)? Or have you at least started with the core applications or something similar? Second question:How “deep” your information is defined (by partit

Hello everyone, how are you?!I saw in this post Connecting GraphiQL to PowerBI that it was possible to retrieve inventory information through code in Power Query. I can retrieve some fields, as in the example, but when I try to retrieve custom fields, the code returns errors.Expression.Error: The 'data' field of the record was not found.Details:errors=[List]Has anyone else experienced this? How can I fix it?

We track initiatives in LeanIX and currently configure quality seals to expire after three months of inactivity, aligning with our quarterly project reviews. This approach works well for active projects, but we’ve noticed that completed initiatives also lose their quality seals over time. We want to preserve the history of these projects without requiring users to manually maintain seals on inactive or completed initiatives.I’m interested in hearing how other companies handle this situation. Are there best practices for maintaining historical quality seals on completed projects while minimizing unnecessary user intervention?

We want to keep data in a reference system and in LeanIX in synch.  The administrators of the reference system are proficient in powershell, and the easiest path is a powershell script that uses the LeanIX APIs. Does anyone have a powershell script that uses the LeanIX APIs that we could use as a reference model?

Hello, I got invited as admin of a LeanIX workspace, but I can’t sign in. It’s my first time using LeanIX.Could I get any help?Thank you.
