Dear all,

I can see there have been quite a few adaptations to the metamodel in our LeanIX Workspace. I wonder if there is an elegant way to find the deviations from the standard “as delivered” model? I know there is a change log/audit log, but I find it tedious to figure out what the actual changes are. Some changes are done by LeanIX support (due to changes in the metamodel version?).

Also, where would you draw the line when it comes to adaptations? Extra fields are okay to what extent? What about establishing new relations to fact sheets or hiding parent or child levels? Moving subareas?

Do you have guidelines in your companies, and how do you document changes? Thank you in advance for any opinions or input.

Have a great day

(tried to post it in Meta Model but I do not seem to have accesss there)

Hello Christian,

LeanIX metamodel flexibility is one of its biggest assets. I believe the majority of the organizations have implemented changes to their meta model while keeping the original one as its core. At the end of the day it’s all about what works for you, what your needs are, and what you are trying to represent in LeanIX.

You can find all the information you need in the above documentation section.

The relation diagram should help you see the “default” meta model in one picture.

Some changes are done by LeanIX support (due to changes in the metamodel version?)

About that, I don’t think LeanIX make changes to your meta model without your consent. (They can though if you open a support ticket, maybe you can also open one ticket for this).

Hope this helped.

Hello GiannisAnt,
thank you for your response. I did not mean to imply that changes were made without consent, but rather took it as an indicator that adjustments were necessary when transitioning from Metamodel v3 to v4. So, no customer-specific adjustments.

I also understand the response to mean that I need to go through each Factsheet based on the Audit Log and derive from the documentation whether the relation or field is offered by LeanIX.

Have a great day,
Christian

I would try opening a ticket with support first, checking from the Audit log sounds like a lot of work.
