Hello everyone, how are you?!I saw in this post Connecting GraphiQL to PowerBI that it was possible to retrieve inventory information through code in Power Query. I can retrieve some fields, as in the example, but when I try to retrieve custom fields, the code returns errors.Expression.Error: The 'data' field of the record was not found.Details:errors=[List]Has anyone else experienced this? How can I fix it?
Hi
Just out of curiosity - what advantages do you see in GraphQL compared to using the standard PowerBI integration via OData? I find it significantly easier to set up.
HI,
I wanted to do it through oData because it's easier, but I wasn't given that option for data extraction because I'm not a LeanIX administrator.Do you know of another way to access oData without being an administrator?
If you already have an API token (which I assume because you are able to run GraphQL queries), you can follow these steps:
https://help.sap.com/docs/leanix/ea/odata-integration?locale=en-US
The only step that needs admin interaction is 1a, and only if your workspace has not yet been enabled for OData access. All other steps can be done by any non-admin.
Since I'm a data analyst and don't fully understand how LeanIX works, could using oData somehow compromise the tool's functionality?
This was one of the points the administrator raised. Since nothing was done about it, they were concerned.
I don’t see any issues with enabling OData, neither regarding performance nor any other negative impacts on the LeanIX functionality, but maybe your organization has standards that forbid the use of OData. This is something you need to clarify within your organization - I can only tell that I have never experienced any downside of it, not in our own Aronis workspaces and not for any of our customers.
