Hello Everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well. A common area that has been in popular demand is reporting and generating visual dashboards to present to executive leadership.

I would love to know if you have a robust form of reports or dashboard views that you have used or shared with your teams and why you found it so helpful. Some questions I would love to get more clarity on are:

  1. Which use cases are dashboards and reports solving today?

  2. How often are dashboards and reports from LeanIX utilized?

  3. Have dashboards ever been purposed to reflect strategies, objectives, and defined metrics?

  4. Are there different dashboard views or reports that are being allocated to lines of businesses to help surface relevant data points to a persona?

We’ve added some new features around dashboards that can help streamline your efforts. In this initial release, the side pane features two sections:

  • Dashboard overview: this provides an overview of all dashboards, including pre- and user-defined dashboards
  • Personal: filter dashboards to those created by, shared with, and recently used by the logged-in user

In addition to the workspace default dashboard defined in the admin area's 'General' section, admins can decide whether member and viewer users can set their own default dashboard.

An upcoming release in August will add the collections feature known from reports and diagrams to categorize multiple dashboards in meaningful groups.

I’d like to compile an internal list of feedback to reference for myself, and to share this with clients that may be struggling with adoption around reporting and dashboards. Please share your experiences, and I really appreciate the collaboration factor that has been an ongoing engagement to learn and grow from the Community.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Thanks,

It was surprising in a good way to see the Dashboard changes, One question about this though. Is it possible to access other dashboards from the overview. As an admin/viewer or member if the dashboard is not shared?

Hi Ganesh!

It is possible to access other dashboards from the overview, but it will be contingent on the permission that is set by the user that creates the dashboard. Please see the below steps:

Step 1:

Step 2:

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks,

@Niral Mehta eagerly awaiting the dashboards collection feature.

Creating a default dashboard “landing page” with instructions, training links and links to other content dashboards designed for specific use-cases is the best way to engage new users.

I do hope the “Read & Write Restricted” feature is better designed for dashboards, reports and diagrams in the future so that Admins can see them to be able to manage them without resorting to a support ticket.

Also, maybe it is best to advise the use of “Write Restricted” permission type for dashboards to link to rather than “Unrestricted”, as I would not want just any user to be able to modify a carefully crafted use-case dashboard!
