Hi, new here! does anyone know if LeanIX provides definition of its proposed business capabilities? Do we have to define them on our own?

If you do the review and import action at the bottom you can preview them and yes they have descriptions.
You can find more information in the documentation - Business Capability Catalog (leanix.net)
You can also determine if one of the existing Bus Capability catalogs is appropriate via the Admin menu - Reference Catalogs - which has several industry-focused catalogs already available to Import ,,,

+1ASCII sorting. Most reports, views and diagrams present the factsheets in “alphabetical” order, so you might want to consider prefixing your BC names with a number/ID that follows ASCII sorting rules.
Dependent filtering. If you want to show/filter by dependents of a Level1 capability you may need to use tag groups as per previous post on this Filter to show all descendants | Community (leanix.net)
