I’m struggling with how to represent interfaces where multiple integration layers (middleware) are involved. We have opted to represent middleware as IT Components and link them to interfaces, however in the case of multiple integration layers that act in sequence this kind of representation does not reflect the sequenciality of the flow.Additional complexity is given by the fact that one portion of the interface (e.g. from Source App to Middleware 1) may have certain properties (frequency, mode, etc.), while another portion (e.g. from Middleware 1 to Middleware 2 or from Middleware 2 to Target App) may have different properties. There is no way to capture this variance in the Interface FS if we stick to the out-of-the-box metamodel.Any help would be greatly appreciated

Dear APAC LeanIX Community,We hope this message finds you well! We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our recent webinar, “Best Practices Webinar | Understanding the Power of the Meta Model”. Your participation and engagement made the event a tremendous success, and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to connect with each of you.During the session, we explored how the LeanIX Meta-model enables seamless translation across various architecture layers, facilitating data-driven decision-making and providing fast insights by @frank.emmanuel. The lively Q&A and insightful discussions truly underscored the strength and dynamism of our community. For those who couldn’t attend or wish to revisit the informative content, we have good news! The webinar recording is now available on-demand. Hi everyone,We recently evaluated the LeanIX Self-Built Software Discovery, specifically the Microservice Discovery feature, for both our backend microservices and frontend applications (e.g., Android app).During this evaluation, we observed that the leanix.yaml file in each repository automatically generates Application factsheets with the subtype Microservice in LeanIX. However, it appears there is no way to configure this to create factsheets of type "IT Component", which we currently use in our metamodel. The only changes that can be made are to the subtype, which can be set to deployment, microservice or business solution. Our current modeling approach:We’ve defined in our metamodel that software components, organized hierarchically within a solution, should be represented as IT Components, typically with the subtype Software. As a result, we’re now facing a redundancy: The Microservice Discovery creates Application/Microservice factsheets automatically. We already manually model
Hi.Any on-premise application (let’s call one here ABC) is typically hosted on one or several physical or virtual servers (let’s have here 2 virtual servers SRV123 and SRV456). These servers have often but not always the same OS (let’s say here Windows Server 2019 for both SRV123 and SRV456) and different purposes with different components (let’s say here SRV123 is the web application server with IIS 10.0 and SRV456 the database server with SQL Server 2019). They also run on different pieces of hardware or a single one (let’s say here that SRV123 and SRV456 run on 2 different Dell PowerEdge R550 Rack Server units). In my example, Application ABC would have relations with the following IT Components in LeanIX:Software: Microsoft Windows Server 2019 + Microsoft IIS 10.0 + Microsoft SQL Server 2019, Hardware: Dell PowerEdge R550 Rack Server. But SRV123 and SRV456 servers actually appear nowhere in this model:Of course, they’re not Applications, They could be IT Components, but none of the s
Hi All,Do you know how I could create a custom field type that can be reused in multiple places.Giving you my example. I have to create a single select (enum) “Protocol” field with values like FTP, HTTP, RMI, etc. Obviously I want to use the same field in many places for instance on both ways of an Interface.Thank youPrzemek
Calculations allow you to populate fact sheet fields based on values from other fields. You can set up your calculation logic from scratch, or start with a template and adjust it to your needs. Check out this how-to video showing the feature in action:You can find more information including further coding examples in our documentation.
Hi We are from Air India and we would love to connect with this very cool Comminity
Is there any way to generate reports based on custom dates? For example - Factsheets changed in Last 30 days / Last 60 days based on today’s date? I do not want to select date range manually.

Hello,I am trying to get data from SFSF and update in LeanIX.For updating sing record i need to retrieve the ID of the factsheet users.I used the url below in postman but i get the full result and not the single record which i wanted.https://xxx.leanix.net/services/pathfinder/v1/factSheets?type=USERS&name='Acson Mino'My first question is, is it possible with to do this?If yes, any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dear LeanIX Community, I am looking for a way to import ARIS XML models—potentially involving a conversion step—into LeanIX. Does any one has experience with this or even a solution or workaround? Thank you
We have a three level Business Capability model in LeanIX. We're interested in automating the process of rolling up maturity ratings from child fact sheets to their parent Business Capability fact sheet. When we update the children, we'd like to have the parent BC automatically inherit an average of the child ratings. Is there a built-in LeanIX feature, automation or API-based solution to achieve this? #BusinessCapabilities #Automation
