In a Free Draw diagram, I need interface connectors (arrows) colored by category so the diagram is readable in reviews. Any color I apply to a linked interface connector is discarded when the diagram is closed and reopened — the arrow reverts to black every time. Do any of youu know how to fix this error?

this is the intended behavior.
You can prevent this by turning off automatic updates.
In your diagram:
Uncheck this option:
and click save.
+3Beware that of course when doing this, you won’t get automatic updates on your data
