IT Components reference catalog

I am currently working through my IT Components with my user community.  We had a fairly decent list from our previous EA repository.  One of the things that’s exciting me about LeanIX is linking to the reference catalog to reduce the amount of work I need to do on lifecycles.

A challenge that I have is the effort to link items to the reference catalog.  I need to go through multiple steps to add multiple versions.  For example, we have a ton of versions of Windows and Windows Server (I know I’m completely unique it this LOL) and its taking a ton of time to pull in each one.

Is there a way to look at the entire reference catalog and select versions to import?  I’m looking for something similar to what you can do with Business Capabilities; look at the complete list and import a selection.  If I could filter by Microsoft Windows and then select the versions I have, that would make things so much easier for the initial population.

Thoughts?  Am I coming at the problem wrong?

Hello,

have you tried this view?

You can access it here:

That way you can link faster and don’t have to visit each fact sheet individually.

I did.  Maybe that’s part of my problem… that page throws errors in my environment.  I might have too many things LOL

The other challenge with that, because I use it for Applications also, is that it mismatches a lot depending on how we’ve named things.  What I’d really like to see is a list, whether I have it or not, and be able to import vs. linking everything.  This “linking” method requires creation of the shell and then linking, vs just creating directly.

I’ll see if I can get the error resolved with support and see if that fixes the problem.
