Lucidchart Integration

Hello LeanIX Community,

Hope you all are doing good.

My organization has just started its LeanIX journey, and being a mid size firm, we have a small team of two people on administration side. We have been able to make good progress on factsheets.

However, when it comes to architecture diagrams, we have been making slow progress. Our instance shows integration with Lucidchart and it shows up on the screen, when we go for new diagrams. My question is, is there a way to access LeanIX factsheets from Lucidchart.

Like, if I am creating an application context diagram in Lucidchart, can I pull the applications from LeanIX factsheets. I would like our architects to use the repository instead of having it free-for-all, like everyone giving their own name to the Applications like Salesforce, Sales Force, Salesforce Platform etc. This is what has happened in the past.

@Taurgo   Also keep in mind that completing the Level 1 and 2 Practitioner Certification courses in the LeanIX Academy can really help you understand the inner workings of the tool.

To access the Academy, go to “My Dashboard”, click the question mark inside the circle in the upper right corner, then “SAP LeanIX Academy”.

The Level 2 course has very nice detailed section on Diagramming that could potentially be useful.  It certainly aided me with better understanding how to build LeanIX diagrams rather than counting on our integrated Lucidchart diagrams.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Taurgo,

Thanks for your post. Since we haven’t had any responses, I will help out.

The LucidChart integration  allows for simultaneous viewing of your Lucid Diagrams in LeanIX and the ability to convert existing LeanIX diagrams into Lucid diagrams.

However, there is currently no bi-directional sync of data between the two systems so creating diagrams within LeanIX entirely is the best way to achieve what you’re looking for. That said, you may be able to find a solution by exporting your data from LeanIX in Excel form and uploading that to LucidChart for your users to pull information from. It’s not perfect, but would allow you to create a “bucket” of data for users to pull from and then you would need to reinforce the standard of naming it just how it looks in LeanIX.

In any case, if you would like to see a good demo of how the Integration currently works, you can check out this video.

Very best,

Beau
