LeanIX Question about CTO and Version Management

Jonathan Ortega

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.

I'd like to ask for your guidance on two specific use cases in LeanIX:

Cost Visualization: Is it possible to generate pie charts or bar graphs that show the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of applications? We only find sums of quantity, but not much configuration. And we'd like to group by specific tags for example. Is it possible? We've already have the TCO Extention

Version Management: What's the best practice for seeing evolutionary improvements in an application while maintaining its history? My goal is to track the evolution without having to create multiple new Fact Sheets for each version, thus avoiding unnecessary duplicates in the inventory.

Thank you very much in advance for your recommendations!

Hi @Jonathan Ortega ,
you can add Pie and Bar charts in the dashboard (Dashboard Modeling | SAP Help Portal), but they are limited. If you want to have more option I recommend to user BI Reports: OData Integration | SAP Help Portal will be a first step. We moved from This Odata integration to MS Fabric with datalakes. We use PY spark to query leanix via graphql and API (e.g. for metadata).
Best regards,

Carsten

Hi Carsten

Thanks for the quick response. I'll take your recommendation and discuss with my BI team the possibility of extracting data from LeanIX and visualizing it in a BI dashboard.

Jonathan
