We've already uploaded an Excel file with data objects attributes, determined which services and licenses they are, and there are 217 of them in total. Now we need to update the descriptions inside each fact sheet.
How can we avoid manual work and ensure that the system won't return errors during a mass import?
Could you pleae describe step by step or share or ideas regarding this query.

As mentioned, if it is a one-time update is it the easiest way to do it. Admins do it all the time. Export the filtered inventory data (your 200 fact sheets), export, open Excel, change the description (however you like) and save. Then go back in Inventory and reimport the saved spreadsheet. The import process will use the IDs (first column) as the match key to perform an upsert (so make sure not to move them around or to delete them).

This is our approach in case we have the data that has been collected outside of LeanIX already and needs to be mass-changed: Download an Excel file with all relevant fact sheets including the fields to be changed, change the content in Excel and upload to LeanIX. For changing the data in Excel we use VLOOKUP or Copilot or other Excel functionality, depending on the case and the data.

thank you so much for the support here , would be so kind clarify hat you mean by Vlookup and how with help of Copilot we can mage it all together.
You're right, we exported already 219 Data object attribute from Lean IX to excel, filtered out what we need to see in Excel, and now we're checking the context. We are intersting only in descrption sector, which is outdated in our opinion and context should be updated.
But I'm worried that changing the context himslef in Excel will cause formatting that won't allow us to load it back into Linux without errors. Or?
May be we can have a short call regarding this, and can show how its look like at the moment in Excel.
VLOOKUP is an Excel function used in formulas to insert values from other tables based on keys.
In some cases you can also solve it with the help of Copilot, especially if the data to be used for enriching the descriptions is for example not structured or well formulated.
We never had problems with the formatting. I recommend just giving it a try. When uploading data from Excel, LeanIX first simulates the import and you have the option to download a change log. Review this before finally changing data and start with a few number of fact sheets first.
