Hi,does anybody have an idea, why LEANIX automations are limited to (as the documentation reads) “Single-select fields and unused fields”. This leads to a lot of fields not showing up in the configuration dialog and it seems you cannot automate a field based on its “text” value. You cannot compare to it.Why is that and what are “unused fields”?Greets Olaf
Moin, just like to say that the recent change of hiding the export option in the three-point menue of the inventory header is a ...not so good… idea , especially because this option constantly gets visibly blocked when the “eye” option below, toggling the field list to be shown”,is enabled, which happens quite frequently prior to using the export option.Leads to simply blocking sight to the export option. Does not feel good. Why not simply add a button left off …? Only my opinion.
Creating an export template for Application fact sheet. I’m not seeing many of the fields (relationship, multi select, etc) in the field chooser (eye icon) in the table view. For example, I’d like to update TIME choices when importing metadata, but that’s not available in the selector.
We were trying to relate a project as a child of another project. but get this error “The operation exceeds the quota for configuration maxHierarchyLevel: 4 of 3” We have projects with phases and trying to represent each phase by creating a project for each phase then relate those to the parent project. What’s the recommended way within leanix to achieve this?ThanksTom
Hi, I’m trying to understand if it’s possible to configure constraints between relations, as described on the following page: https://docs-eam.leanix.net/docs/adding-and-editing-data-in-fact-sheets#constraining-relations.I’d like to know if the "Relation valid for" setting can be configured at the metamodel level and understand the underlying logic.
N00b question (I assume it is). I’ve read through different articles but I’m not finding a hit on the issue I’m facing. Our company uses Axure and I had it in inventory as Axure. SaaS inbox saw it as Axure RP, which I let it create the new Application. Many of them link and that's great. This one did not and now I have Axure and Axure RP. I have some capabilities, etc.. linked to the Axure one that I would want to migrate to Axure RP. I can’t seem to find a “merge/link” button for 2 apps in the inventory. Am I missing something, thinking about this the wrong way, etc..
What is the best practice for registering an application fact sheet for a mobile app that is available on the App Store and Google Play Store?
I’m creating a survey on business criticality of applications. Logic in the meta model that if an application is deemed mission critical, then a set of additional questions pops up (=conditional questions). I’ve tried to replicate this in the survey, but it’s not possible. The workaround I’ve found is to create a new section in the survey with non-mandatory fields with a textual prompt to only fill it in for mission critical apps.Am I correct in my assumption it’s not possible to configure conditional fields as I need? I’ve added those fields to the survey but I can see a lock next to it, i.e. cannot enter this data. What might be the reasons and how to overcome it?
Greetings, The application fact-sheet looks as follows, where all info is on the left side aligned, and as we continue to add more fields, the list continues to grow down: Is it possible to move or configure some of the fields to the right side, to use real-estate better? I see this in the application fact-sheet configuration, but on the application record, it shows only in the EDIT mode. Is it also possible to show in non-EDIT mode? Thanks,Satish Byali
My organization is implementing Data Mesh, and I want to implement data mesh thinking in LeanIX. Could you please help me with some basic idea of implementing Data Mesh thinking in LeanIX?
Dear all,I can see there have been quite a few adaptations to the metamodel in our LeanIX Workspace. I wonder if there is an elegant way to find the deviations from the standard “as delivered” model? I know there is a change log/audit log, but I find it tedious to figure out what the actual changes are. Some changes are done by LeanIX support (due to changes in the metamodel version?).Also, where would you draw the line when it comes to adaptations? Extra fields are okay to what extent? What about establishing new relations to fact sheets or hiding parent or child levels? Moving subareas?Do you have guidelines in your companies, and how do you document changes? Thank you in advance for any opinions or input.Have a great day Christian (tried to post it in Meta Model but I do not seem to have accesss there)
We have a three level Business Capability model in LeanIX. We're interested in automating the process of rolling up maturity ratings from child fact sheets to their parent Business Capability fact sheet. When we update the children, we'd like to have the parent BC automatically inherit an average of the child ratings. Is there a built-in LeanIX feature, automation or API-based solution to achieve this? #BusinessCapabilities #Automation
Hello TeamI am looking for brief descriptions or narratives for each Factsheet Attribute within our documentation, such as 6R Classification, 6R Strategy, Alias, Business Contexts, Business Criticality, and Children. Additionally, we need descriptions for other Inventory Item Factsheets to ensure consistency when cascading this information to our SMEs, who will be responsible for sourcing the data.If you have any references or documented details, please share. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Hello everyone!I’m just wondering if any business capability map exists for the not for profit sector such as a large Children’s Charity? Also very keen to hear from anyone in this area using LeanIX!
I'm looking for ways to make certain Fact Sheets private or restrict access to them in LeanIX. We have some sensitive data that we only want specific users to be able to view or edit.I know LeanIX doesn't have a direct "private" setting, but I've heard about using role-based permissions, subscription types, and tags to control access. Could anyone share some detailed instructions or examples of how to do this effectively? For example, how can I:Restrict access to a Fact Sheet so that only users with a specific role (e.g., "Finance") can view it? Make certain attributes (fields) within a Fact Sheet visible only to certain users? Use tags to control access to sensitive Fact Sheets?Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
We are starting with Technical and Functional Fit for apps in our portfolio. I would like to use out of the box functionality and definitions, however we discovered that existing definitions of these two attributes are quite hard to judge. Example: definition of a perfect functional fit is “High number of functions available” - we are not really looking at functions in business value assessment, we would be looking to how well this application realizes my business problem end to end. Additionally, we want to make sure that app owners are less prone to rate everything as “prefect fit” (which we know they tend to do).Does anyone have experience with successfully enriching these definitions?
Hi,I have a survey running with invitations sent to factsheet subscribers. In some cases the subscriber has changed meanwhile and I like the survey invitation sent to these new members. How can I get LEANIX to up date the recipients pool of the survey andresend the invitation to new members inform the old recipient that his task was shifted to another person? Thanks for a hintOlaf
hello, have searched this community but haven’t found any lead to understand if LeanIX is intuitive enough in terms of accessibility, and compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA level. Can anyone pls comment or guide me here? Kr, Deb.
Hi - is it possible to convert a fact sheet (=application) to another type factsheet (=IT Component). I don’t want to manually redo the attributes and relationships. And I have multiple cases to be converted.Thank youNatalia
Hello,we are conducting an assessment of the applications within the company, specifically mapping applications and their related microservices. We have introduced a mandatory subscriptions for assigning responsible and accountable roles to applications and modules that are part of the IT landscape. Now, we need to map external applications owned by business stakeholders, which are invoked by internal microservices. Since we are mapping them as applications, they also inherit the mandatory subscriptions for accountability and responsibility. However, in many cases, we are unable to meet the responsibility requirement because there are no IT personnel involved. How can we model this scenario for external applications?
Hi, We are having a challenge mappying our IT Components. The rational was:Application is linked to at least 3 IT Components, that would represent: Software (Software; SaaS, Paas) Infrastructure (Hardware, IaaS) Services (Service) For example, if we are using a PaaS, and you want to describe the resources you are using, what IT Component subtype you would use? For example the following IT Components will be of what subtype?
Application question: We are in the proces of analyzing our custom applications. Some are developed in python, others in Java, VBA, .NET or C#.How would you register the code base in such a way that you can report about all bespoke applications that are written in an obsolete language (VBA, .Net but also Kobol) come to mind.Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Hi y’all, I’m trying to figure out how the trash bin field works for archived factsheets. It seems like the archived factsheets are removed from the trash bin after some days, so just wondering what is the most efficient way of creating a tracking system for these factsheets? My initial idea is to take out exports of archived factsheets in a table view and manually append the data regularly in a locally stored file. Can this be automated and perhaps even be visualised on a LeanIX dashboard instead? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! :)
Hello Experts, Need your help in understanding the usage of TIME and 6R methodologies. At most places it mentions 6R is more towards the applications - focused to move on Cloud (no wonder it was proposed by AWS) however, when it comes to APM for an enterprise what should be the ideal way of choosing the right method of Application assessment? Should it be just TIME or combination of both.Any experience around this topic will be helpful. Thanks,Santosh
