Hi, new here! does anyone know if LeanIX provides definition of its proposed business capabilities? Do we have to define them on our own?Looking forward to your answers,Thank you for sharing!

Does anyone have any advice on how best to model an Organization-Application linkage for Apps that are used by everyone in the organization? I’m thinking I’d want to create a Level 1 Organization (subtype=BU) to represent all employees of the organization generically. If there’s a specific team or region of users where that application has a distinct functional fit that needs to be called out, then we would add those as additional organizations. I think that should give us flexibility to provide insight into different usage perspectives for those shared services, but curious to know what approaches others have taken.

Is it possible to configure the reference catalogs (SaaS, Business Architecture, etc.) to use a langage other than english?

Hi, Is there a way to filter applications using the overall completion percentage of the factsheet? I am planning to use this to track KPI. Appreciate your inputs.

Hi Everyone,At my organization, we are currently undergoing an an effort to get our Application Inventory completely up to date with the rest of our IT department. We have selected some users to represent their team/business area when it comes to LeanIX and provide lists of the applications they use. I was wondering if there was any PowerPoint content that LeanIX has published would be helpful to present to users as far as teaching them how to create fact sheets, updating quality seal, going through each section of an Application fact sheet, adding relationships to other fact sheet types, etc. Does anyone know of any content like that exists? I would love to be pointed in that direction. Thanks!

Hi there, I was wondering if there is a way in the IT Component table view to see the Obsolescence Risk Status and Obsolescence Risk Description associated with the consuming Application for an IT component.  The reason I ask is that we would like to be able to bulk update these where appropriate, rather than having to go into each application's individual relationship with the IT component and edit it.  Is this something that is only available with the TRM module?  To bulk load or edit this data please?

We are looking into reporting metrics on specific factsheets data, and in that, one of the key attributes is when the factsheet (Factsheet A) got created (date created) and when it gets mapped to another factsheet (date mapped to Factsheet B). While the date created and date mapped are available as part of the audit information, they are not available to include in search results. Can these be configured to expose for search, atleast between Factsheet A and Factsheet B?

I’m struggling with how to best represent interfaces that make calls to multiple applications to prepare a dataset to provide to a consumer application. My scenario is as followsApplication A initiates a push of data to Application B The above is implemented in our ESB/Middleware (Mulesoft in our case) Additional data from Application C is merged with the Application A data ESB pushes merged dataset into Application BRepresenting a single application to application interface via an ESB is OK, follows the LeanIX Modelling guidelines. I’m just stuck as to how to best represent this scenario as this will make up a significant majority of our interfaces. Any help would be appreciated

Dear all,we are currently diving into a very basic cost overview.One of the basic reports are focusing on the provider, which is in general fine. As providers are only connected to the IT components in the meta model and not the Application itself I need to assign all IT components (which all have the  costs on them) to the provider again. That seems not a big issue for SaaS solutions (mostly there is just one IT component), but for on prem solutions / applications there can be maaaany IT components.To be honest: My application owners will be lost if they have to add that information to providers and the applications. ;)Do you guys have any hands on solution or automation in place for this issue? Thanks and best,Christina

Hello everyone,We would like to envision how to handle versioning in LeanIX correctly. There is the Release field in the Application factsheet type, but in my company we have the need to track several versions of one applications because we have parallel versions.Let’s say we have three applications A, B and CWe have for A:V1.0.1 installed at site 1V1.0.6 installed at site 2V2.0.0 installed at site 3For B:V8.0.0 at site 1V9.2.0 at site 3For C:V5.0.1 at site 2At any time, another version of C could ​be instal​​​​led at site 3 and it could be different than the one from site 2 so we have a need to track it also.We could clone three times the Application factsheet for A, two times for B, and change the release field but that seems inefficient. Also if one of the shared field (the description, or the Application Owner, or anything else) change, we’d have to edit every factsheet manually.

Hello Community,has anyone experience with dealing of options assessment results in LeanIX?Le me explain in more detail:You are dealing with lots of Business Capabilities in LeanIX (amount n) and due to best of breed you have same amount (n) of applications in the portfolio.On the other hand you know about an application supporting more than one business capability - an integrated solution. How to visualize the option that this integrated solution (not implemented only based on capabilities) is providing as it might be the successor for multiple active applications!The successor attribute is too hard wired for this because we are talking about an option and curently there is no initiative planned/release.How would you deal with this requirement in LeanIX (or is LeanIX the wrong tool for something like this)? Best RegardsThomas

Does anyone know where I can find reference documentation on the Advanced tab for Portals?Portal (leanix.net) - this provides awareness that it exists, but I cannot seem to find any documentation referencing the valid JSON structure or values.

Hi We are doing a bit of discovery into the portal now, and have an idea, at this stage, to smooth out the process for end-users needing access to an application. Has anyone used the “Request Application” to anything useful? Currently - it simply points to the documentation for the self-service portal - I have a few ideas to either trigger a request in ServiceNOW, either by prepopulating an email running through the think-automate, or using Power Automate to streamline the process to get access to an application. Has anyone done something similar and would be generous enough to share some insights? BRTore

Hello All! We have multiple business divisions using a single interface (Interface 1.0) today.A new interface (Interface 2.0) is being deployed and it is expected that the divisions will migrate to the new interface (2.0) over time and sequenced.What is the best way to track and report on the progress of the migration of divisions over time?I have added a new relation to the Interface factsheet for User Group factsheets. This seems to provide the necessary tracking and reporting based on the Active From and Active Until relation data. The same Provider application is providing the interface to consuming applications. Just wanted to ask the community to see if there are any other ideas out there or any concerns with adding this new relationship to the factsheet. Regards,Mark

Hello,In my company, for the Business Context/process factsheet, we add as a resource type the related BP diagram. We do it under tab resources, select Diagram ( Link, File , Diagram options available) and then select the Free Draw diagram we want to assign to the factsheet.In the BP portal, in the detailed section, we would like display the link to the Diagram assigned to that Business Context/process Factsheet. It seems that only resources added under “Link” can be shown in the Portal.Does anybody know how to add a Diagram so it can be displayed detailed section of an Factsheet in the Portal?Cheers, Silvia

Hello, my company intends to implement the LeanIX tool, but we still have some questions about how the platform works and some questions like: how long does the implementation take (months? Years?), what type of integration does it have with Signavio? Is there any difficulty in the implementation? Is the platform itself automated, or is it quite manual (data processing and analysis, report completion, etc.)?

We’ve 100+ use cases for our company for 2024 roadmap. We are yet to finalize which application/vendor to choose. How do we put these use cases in LeanIX? I am using Business Product for now.

WIth current Metamodel v 4, can same object be part of several different FactSheets?I.e SharePoint and ServiceNow is both Strategic Platforms and Tech Platforms and Applications at same time. or should thay only be part of ONE FactSheet only?
