Hi,I use integration API and processor to synchronize external systems with LeanIX, especially the inboundFactSheet processor type. The default behavior of this processor is to identify if the factsheet already exist (usage of the externalId) and update it or create it if it doesn’t exist. But I don’t know if it’s possible to update it only and not to create it if it doesn’t exist? Thanks for your help.Olivier C.
Hello everyone,There is a hypothetical scenario that I would feel safe knowing the solution to.I am linking some Applications with ServiceNow, but I am using a filter in the integration so it only links the applications I want to.Let’s say that some applications move to another sub-company in the workspace. With conservative sync being mandatory since the target is ServiceNow and an overwrite would delete stuff there.Said sub-company will now have its own ServiceNow instance, so I want to move the applications to their instance, but if I break the initial link from the filter then the Applications inside ServiceNow won’t be deleted. While at the same time for other reasons ServiceNow id is mandatory to be kept.So If I create new fact sheets (clones or import an export without the old IDs) I will lose the ServiceNow id.Question is how can I move some Applications links from a ServiceNow instance to another, while deleting the applications from the original SNOW instance. Thanks in advance,
I Am doing a S4 HANA transformation. i am syncing a application with business capability business context successors etc to SAP signavio. everything is syncing till i execute a transformation. AFter that everything syncs but business context is removed. LeanIX is the source in integration. For business context - they were created in signavio and pushed to LeanIX.
I have a new issue with the GraphQL query, appreciate any help.I have this query and I want to only pull back subscriptions where the subscription role name = Application Owner. query AllFactSheets { allFactSheets(factSheetType: Application) { edges { node { id name type ... on Application { DRTargetTier CurrentStatus Description BusinessImpact subscriptions { edges { node { user { displayName } roles(filter: {name: "Application Owner"}) { name } } } } } } } }}Using the above query gives an error (Validation error of type UnknownArgument: Unknown field argument filter) - So I presume either a) I can’t filter on the role name, or b) I’m misformatting it?
Hi Everyone,We are just adopting LeanIX now and I’m trying to import TBM Tech categories and getting errors that we exceeded hierarchy quota. I tried to add a few fact sheets like “customer care” under Business / Customer Service, and then tried to link it, but we get errors like this: Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?
A deceivingly simple question: how do you decide whether something is an app or something else? Can platforms be apps? Can APIs be apps? Web front-ends? Physical infrastructure (networking equipment with network management software on them?) Any thoughts welcome!
Just like I wrote in the title, I can not remove any IT components added to "Requires”, even the ones I added myself. I checked with my colleague and he has this read button saying “Delete entry”, for me this button does not appear. Does anyone know how can I fix this issue?
We would like to “freeze” the entire LeanIX workspace for maintenance. Only three selected people having user role “Admin” should be allowed to edit within the workspace. All people having ‘Member’ user role should only be allowed to view (just as people having ‘Viewer’ user role’). Hopefully there’s an easier way of doing this than to manually start changing the ‘Member’ permissions for each and every LeanIX object (application, IT component, etc.) in our workspace? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.
Hi all,Happy Wednesday from a blazing hot Cary, NC! I’m curious as to who has shared LeanIX Reports or Dashboards with their CEO and if so - which ones have resonated the most? Thanks in advance for your help,Lisa KernsFHI 360
Hi,I would like to know the best practice for where the technical fit should reside: on the application factsheet or the IT component? Is it more convenient to use the IT component for technical fit since it has a direct relationship to the application factsheet?Thank you.
Dear Members,I have created a Presentation in LeanIX under reporting section.I would like to embed this presentation in my confluence page, however when I try to insert the LeanIx macros, I do not see my presentation created in LeanIx.Is this intended for now and planned for future or I am missing something. Thanks,Awadhesh
I am seeking assistance with integrating assets from our Jira CMDB (Configuration Management Database) with LeanIX Factsheets and synchronizing specific fields between the two systems. Our goal is to ensure that data consistency is maintained across both systems, with Jira CMDB serving as the single source of truth for all information. However, we have encountered challenges related to middleware solutions, as our internal middleware Celium has not been approved for this purpose. I am Really A Rookie in this Topic, maybe you know a better approch for this Case.
I’ve searched documentation but cannot find guidance on the value vs effort of relating L1 applications to business capabilities and organizations. If an L1’s child applications (L2) are mapped appropriately to Business Capabilities and Organizations, why map L1 at all? The effort to do so is very duplicative and my users don’t want to do it. My thought is to “Leave Empty” these relations on L1 applications as it is effort without much value. What are your opinions?Example: An L1 application like “SAP ERP” and child applications like “SAP ERP CO”, etc.
Hi!In case where an application is providing more than one business capability, is there any way to select which is the leading / main one? Thanks,Dora
As the title states, I have an Application Portal and when clicking on an application and the detail opening, there is a button for, “Request Now”. I’ve used the Portals in Administration to customize the action to “mailto: xxxxxx” our help desk, however, it would be awesome to dynamically include the application name that is being requested. Has anyone done this?
Hi all!I was integrating ServiceNow with LeanIX with the connector that LeanIX provides but the integration hasn’t been successful due to custom tables. My question is, what is the best APIs method to update factsheets? As I can see, I have these 3 options:API Rest: I do not see the option to update factsheets GraphQL: I believe that this option provides the solution that I am looking for Integrations: at this point, I am not sure what this option is forWhat would be the best solution for this integration with ServiceNow?Thank you:)
Hi community!I am looking for an application lyfecycle management map to incorporate it to the operating model. The thing is, I don’t get any that explains it clear and easy to follow. Does anyone know how to get what I am looking for?So thankful for your help, as alwyas!
Hi community! So helpful everytime I end up here looking for help:) Does anyone know or have an interesting idea of how to present business capabiltities to stakeholders? In the near future I have to give a kick.off presentation to my stakeholders and present them which business capabilities I have identified and its definitions to be alignedThank you in advance:)
Hi, new here! does anyone know if LeanIX provides definition of its proposed business capabilities? Do we have to define them on our own?Looking forward to your answers,Thank you for sharing!
SAP recently published a white paper about how SAP employs an enterprise architecture strategy using SAP LeanIX and SAP Signavio to manage IT portfolios, optimize applications, and support growth. This approach uses business capabilities as a common language, with regular assessments guiding investments. Strategic decisions, like the greenfield approach to cloud business, enhance agility and standardization. It’s definitely worth a read! It contains a ton of insights and best practices. Some of the key learnings shared:Enterprise architecture follows business architecture. Decoupling new business models from old ones in a greenfield approach. Focus on business outcomes in your decision making. RISE with SAP is an optimal offering for your transformation. Focus on unified customer experience.Click to download the White Paper directly. Does anyone have any advice on how best to model an Organization-Application linkage for Apps that are used by everyone in the organization? I’m thinking I’d want to create a Level 1 Organization (subtype=BU) to represent all employees of the organization generically. If there’s a specific team or region of users where that application has a distinct functional fit that needs to be called out, then we would add those as additional organizations. I think that should give us flexibility to provide insight into different usage perspectives for those shared services, but curious to know what approaches others have taken.
Is it possible to configure the reference catalogs (SaaS, Business Architecture, etc.) to use a langage other than english?
Hi, Is there a way to filter applications using the overall completion percentage of the factsheet? I am planning to use this to track KPI. Appreciate your inputs.
Hi Everyone,At my organization, we are currently undergoing an an effort to get our Application Inventory completely up to date with the rest of our IT department. We have selected some users to represent their team/business area when it comes to LeanIX and provide lists of the applications they use. I was wondering if there was any PowerPoint content that LeanIX has published would be helpful to present to users as far as teaching them how to create fact sheets, updating quality seal, going through each section of an Application fact sheet, adding relationships to other fact sheet types, etc. Does anyone know of any content like that exists? I would love to be pointed in that direction. Thanks!
Hi there, I was wondering if there is a way in the IT Component table view to see the Obsolescence Risk Status and Obsolescence Risk Description associated with the consuming Application for an IT component. The reason I ask is that we would like to be able to bulk update these where appropriate, rather than having to go into each application's individual relationship with the IT component and edit it. Is this something that is only available with the TRM module? To bulk load or edit this data please?
