How to model the relationship of Applications to platforms and IT components? Should the application relationship to IT components (making up the platform) be created if the relationship between the application and the platform is already established? For example, consider that there is an Analytics platform made up by a DataLake (IT component 1) and Machine Learning module (IT component 2). The Analytics platform is used to build the Customer Analytics application. How to model in this scenario? Case 1:Create relationship between Customer Analytics application withAnalytics Platform IT components - Data Lake and ML moduleAlso create the relation between the Analytics platform and both the IT ComponentsCase 2:Create relationship between the Customer Analytics application with Analytics platform only. The relationship between the Application and these 2 IT components is not required since the IT components are inherently related to the app through the platform factsheet. The advantage in
Hi, What are the ways to export data from LeanIX?I don’t see any export button anywhere on the LeanIX page. I have the option to view and edit existing reports but not create new ones. My role is viewer. Also, according to me using an API to fetch data requires an API token but there is no option to generate any API token. Is the export functionality in LeanIX role dependent? Thanks.
Hello!New to EA and LeanIX. I’m looking for thoughts around performing general risk management (associated with EA) within LeanIX.Risk management typically involves listing specific risks, with description, likelihood, and impact score attributes, and calculates risk scores based off of them.As far as I can tell, LeanIX (even with the Risk and Compliance module) allows us to store aggregated obsolescence specific risk via the lifecycle attribute but it doesn’t provide this general risk management capability.I’ve found a documentation example which seems to use tags to augment fact sheets with additional sunset status/risk, but that’s not quite what I had in mind. I’ve also found this example where custom fact sheet attributes are created and populated with similar fields (but not as a separate risk object):https://docs-eam.leanix.net/reference/calculate-risk-scores-based-survey-responsesHas anyone created custom objects and custom relationships to implement this sort of risk register f
Would like to understand how deep other organisations have gone with modelling data in leanix eg providing a view of data solutions , domain data models?
Hi Team,I am populating Factsheet Type = User Group with Organization Data and the “Alias” field has details of an organization unit. How can I reference the “Alias” field in factsheet type = User Group in another factsheet type “Application” (field = Business unit) Does LEANIX allow cross factsheet type reference? Purpose - Identify which applications belong to which business unit.
I need to export Resource data. Integration API seems to be the way to go since this data is not available via excel export. I can’t find examples of outbound processors that reference this data. An example would be appreciated. Data that I need: links with names, URLs, types, descriptions, and diagram references ...… and maybe logos (but not critical). Hi LeanIX Community, My team and I are working on a survey, but our users are currently not receiving the email invitations to participate. Could you please help us determine if there is any specific information we may be missing or provide any guidance on how to resolve this issue? We appreciate your support and any assistance you can provide. Thank you,Aby
Hello everyone -I’m new to LeanIX community and I did search to see if there was a similar question asked and didn’t find anything. Let me give some context before I ask the question: I am a business architect in a health insurance company that sells different types of health insurance “Products’. I’m documenting value streams, using Business Context fact sheets, across the organization and then linking Applications, which have their dependencies on the IT components. There are certain value streams that are either specific to a “Product” or multiple Products. Similarly there could be Applications that would be used for a specific Product. I need to create “Product-Specific” views in LeanIX. For example, I need to answer following questions:Which Applications support Product A? Give me a view of Product B value streams and the related Applications and IT Components? Here are my questions:How can I best associate specific Products against value streams and applications? Would “Tags” be
I am running into a scenario where we would like to use TIME with IT Components, along with our Applications. I am thinking of a scenario where we might have several components in a Tech Category, and we want to Technology Rationalize down to a reasonable number. Using the TIME classifications would be a big help there to help show teams what they should be using moving forward as we work to decommission the others. Any thoughts/ideas on this would be appreciated.
As a large public organisation we have several innitiativ & tenders for changeing the Application & IT-map.If we are working i 10 diffrent tenders with about 30 diffrerent suppliers and their applicationens. How do we handle the LeanIX Applications licens model, as we dont what to pay for Applications that are not in production. One way is just to keep those possible applications in Initiativ-factsheet and build relations from there.
Hello,I’m trying to create a reportbut I need that on X-Axis appears the relation “Uses Platform”. Can you please support on this? Thanks.
Hello everyone,My current understanding is that behind most business capabilites there is a process that describes how this capability is achieved operationally. This process is modeled in SAP Signavio according to BPMN 2.0, for example. However, my understanding is also that certain capabilities can be used or activated within a process in order to support a process. Therefore, I have the following questions: Is it correct that business capabilities are used within a process to realize a higher-level capability? How can this relationship between capabilities and processes be represented in Signavio? So how do I illustrate in my BPMN, that the process describes “how” a certain capability is delivered? And how do I show other capabilities that are required for this process?Thank you very much for your support!
Hi Community FellowsWe are new to LeanIX, I am exploring if anyone has experience in B2B integration flow ( IFDs) having trading partner ( external customer) mapped in LeanIX. A2A integration where in sender and receivers are applications, it appears straightforward with interface factsheet. But any guidance on B2B would be helpful. RegardsKalpesh
Hello, I’m fairly new to using LeanIx tool for EA practice, within our organisation we have determined a few business products used by consumers and these products are supported by IT Components. The confusion we have is how do we link the business product to IT components without creating any applications. I understand we can change the out of the box meta model definition, just wanted to see if anyone has tried this approach before and if yes what implications does it have?
Hello Everyone!Thank you for attending the Best Practice Webinar regarding APM Best Practices today! Below you will find the recording to the presentation, the deck used to present, and a recap of what was discussed. Recording of PresentationPresentation Deck Recap: - The webinar is about Application Portfolio Management (APM) best practices and use cases in LeanIX, an Enterprise Architecture tool.- It suggests starting an APM initiative by compiling a list of past, present and future applications deployed on your system, identifying who owns these applications, and understanding the life cycle of these applications.- To ensure good quality data in your APM, LeanIX recommends using Quality Seals, a feature that ensures mandatory fields and attributes are filled in data.- LeanIX offers various features to aid APM, including configurable surveys, quality seals, tagging, diagram editor for visualizing application landscape, predefined KPI dashboards for analyzing and evaluating applicati
I would like to find an applications that have a certain “pIT ICTO ID”. But searching for applications with a Full Text search = “ICTO-20878” does not yield the right search results. Is it possible to search for a specific text instead of full text search?
Is there an easy way to get a list of applications in my portfolio that are/are not linked to the SaaS catalog?
As a bit of a follow up to this topic: How to include Application displayName in "Request Now" Action Button of Application Portal | Community (leanix.net) I am wondering if it is possible to redirect the “Request Now” button in the Portal to open a form for filling out a new fact sheet. I have just created a Data Quality Governance process with tagging and To-Dos for making sure applications are entered with good data quality, and having the portal as an entry point for new manual application requests to take advantage of this would be great.
Is there a way to automate the role of the user if the user has been added as a subscriber.Ex: X is a viewer and X has been added as a service manager/ service owner. Can we automate to change the role of X from viewer to member?
Hi, We have all app interfaces in Leanix but I was wandering: Did anyone also model/describe their ETL data interfaces in Leanix? Do you create interface factsheets for them too? How do you do this then? Are there best practices? Thanks in advance for the feedback!Tim
Hello LeanIX world!Have anyone use LeanIX to promote and/or track any security initiatives, like CMMC maturity level, Zero Trust?I am interested in learning your approaches to gather as-is and then create transformation stages to achieve certain security ‘assurance level’ that is customized for your environment. Thanks in advance!
Hello dear LeanIX Community, i am currently struggling with understanding the concept of the fields Provider Application and Consumer Applications on the Interface Fact Sheet. As I understand it, it has nothing to do with the direction of the data flow. But how can I identify which application is the provider and which one is the consumer of the interface? And also when should I use Logical Interface and when API as the subtype of the Fact Sheet?Thank you very much.
We are relatively new to LeanIX and have just completed an initial phase with a small selection of applications. User Groups have proven to be a real challenge and we are considering if the new Organisation and sub types help us address this.We have grown via acquisition so have a very diverse IT landscape with multiple sites in the same country using different applications for the same business capability. This is the detail we want to capture. Therefore User Group has been set as physical locations (addresses) which represent sites. We have then put in a 4 tier hierarchy to help aggregate that data into meaningful summaries. The challenges we still face are:Who is using the application versus where it is supporting? Where we have finance shared services, they are the user of an application for say accounts receivable but the data belongs to a site. Finance Shared Services being the User Group is a given, but do people also map the site, or just accept that the Accounts Receiva
Hello,To organise our digital products, we are using User Groups. We defined several sub-types :- Jobs / user Roles - Organisation (domain branch)- Group of products (teams under Organisation) In a table view of the "Digital Product" inventory, I would like to have 2 separate columns : one with the Organisation, and one with the Group of Products. Currently, I didn't find how to do it but only have column "User Groups" with all subtypes mixted. Is there a possibilty to have the same functionality as for the subscribers : to select which sub-type in a separate column? Otherwise, sould I modify the meta-model to add new filed : one for the organization, one for group of product(but always linked to the user groups) ? Thanks for your help Gauthier
Hello all,I have a little challenge for Application Portfolio Management with multiple organizations. When assigning an Application to a Business Capability or Business Context (Process), it is possible to determine for which Organization is this relationship valid. So, for example, you could say that:SAP CRM automates Customer Management for USSalesforce automates Customer Management for UKWhen creating a Business Capabilities search in the inventory (Both organizations use the same BC Map), the result shows both applications supporting the same Capability:BC ApplicationsCustomer Management SAP CRM;SalesforceIs there a way to specify in the search criteria to show Applications to Business Capability relations valid for one Organization only…. The desired result is (assuming the Organization is “US”):BC ApplicationsCustomer Management SAP CRMThanks for the helpPaco Quiroz
