KPI percentages always show 0%

I created some sample KPIs, that are based on inventory filters. The results are correct but all of them show 0% in the dashboard. Any idea how to fix this?

Modeling Virtual Servers for Applications in LeanIX v4

This post explores the appropriate approach for modeling virtual servers hosting applications within the LeanIX Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) tool, specifically focusing on the transition from v3 to v4 metamodel.Scenario:On-premise application (ABC) resides on virtual servers (SRV123, SRV456). Servers have the same OS (Windows Server 2019) but distinct purposes and software (SRV123: web application server with IIS 10.0, SRV456: database server with SQL Server 2019). Hardware can be either shared (single physical server) or dedicated (separate Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 rack servers).Challenge:The current v4 metamodel lacks a clear way to represent these virtual servers. Here's why:They are not Applications. Standard IT Component subtypes don't capture their specific nature. Relations with other IT Components to depict hardware/software composition are absent. Integration API - How update and not create a factsheet?

Hi,I use integration API and processor to synchronize external systems with LeanIX, especially the inboundFactSheet processor type. The default behavior of this processor is to identify if the factsheet already exist (usage of the externalId) and update it or create it if it doesn’t exist.But I don’t know if it’s possible to update it only and not to create it if it doesn’t exist?Thanks for your help.Olivier C.

Application migration to a different ServiceNow instance

Hello everyone,There is a hypothetical scenario that I would feel safe knowing the solution to.I am linking some Applications with ServiceNow, but I am using a filter in the integration so it only links the applications I want to.Let’s say that some applications move to another sub-company in the workspace.With conservative sync being mandatory since the target is ServiceNow and an overwrite would delete stuff there.Said sub-company will now have its own ServiceNow instance, so I want to move the applications to their instance, but if I break the initial link from the filter then the Applications inside ServiceNow won’t be deleted.While at the same time for other reasons ServiceNow id is mandatory to be kept.So If I create new fact sheets (clones or import an export without the old IDs) I will lose the ServiceNow id.Question is how can I move some Applications links from a ServiceNow instance to another, while deleting the applications from the original SNOW instance.Thanks in advance,

Business context getting removed on executing transformation

I Am doing a S4 HANA transformation. i am syncing a application with business capability business context successors etc to SAP signavio. everything is syncing till i execute a transformation. AFter that everything syncs but business context is removed. LeanIX is the source in integration. For business context - they were created in signavio and pushed to LeanIX.

How to get all Application Factsheets from REST API

I’ve been trying to pull all application Factsheets from the /factsheet API, specifying criteria in the body such as the “type” and a few select “fields” I want, and setting “false” values on things like tags and subscriptions. However, when running the request, I still get all factsheets regardless of type, all fields, all tags, all subscriptions etc. I must be doing something wrong, but I am not sure what. Any ideas or any examples how I can use the GraphQL API to do this (I’m unfamiliar with GraphQL so I’ve been sticking to REST)?Thanks in advance!

GraphQL help

I have a new issue with the GraphQL query, appreciate any help.I have this query and I want to only pull back subscriptions where the subscription role name = Application Owner. query AllFactSheets { allFactSheets(factSheetType: Application) { edges { node { id name type ... on Application { DRTargetTier CurrentStatus Description BusinessImpact subscriptions { edges { node { user { displayName } roles(filter: {name: "Application Owner"}) { name } } } } } } } }}Using the above query gives an error (Validation error of type UnknownArgument: Unknown field argument filter) - So I presume either a) I can’t filter on the role name, or b) I’m misformatting it?

TBM Taxonomy Import Error

Hi Everyone,We are just adopting LeanIX now and I’m trying to import TBM Tech categories and getting errors that we exceeded hierarchy quota.  I tried to add a few fact sheets like “customer care” under Business / Customer Service, and then tried to link it, but we get errors like this:   Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?

Adoption of the LeanIX Tech Category Catalog

Hello everyone,we are currently in the process of categorizing our IT components using the LeanIX Tech Category Catalog. However, we often encounter difficulties in finding the right categories for certain technologies due to the predefined hierarchy based on the TBM Solutions Layer. For instance, we created a custom tech category called "Operating Systems" with subcategories "Mobile OS", "Server OS", and "Workstation OS" to better fit our needs. Additionally, we developed a separate category for "Languages and Frameworks".Since this approach diverges from the intended use of the catalog, I am curious about how others in the community handle these challenges. Application Classification - How to decide?

A deceivingly simple question: how do you decide whether something is an app or something else?  Can platforms be apps? Can APIs be apps? Web front-ends? Physical infrastructure (networking equipment with network management software on them?) Any thoughts welcome!

I can not remove IT Components that I added in "Requires" section

Just like I wrote in the title, I can not remove any IT components added to "Requires”, even the ones I added myself. I checked with my colleague and he has this read button saying “Delete entry”, for me this button does not appear. Does anyone know how can I fix this issue?

Apply "freeze" of LeanIX workspace for maintenance

We would like to “freeze” the entire LeanIX workspace for maintenance. Only three selected people having user role “Admin” should be allowed to edit within the workspace. All people having ‘Member’ user role should only be allowed to view (just as people having ‘Viewer’ user role’). Hopefully there’s an easier way of doing this than to manually start changing the ‘Member’ permissions for each and every LeanIX object (application, IT component, etc.) in our workspace? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.

Technical Fit Best Practices

Hi,I would like to know the best practice for where the technical fit should reside: on the application factsheet or the IT component? Is it more convenient to use the IT component for technical fit since it has a direct relationship to the application factsheet?Thank you.

Presentations reports not appearing in Confluence page LeanIX Macro

Dear Members,I have created a Presentation in LeanIX under reporting section.I would like to embed this presentation in my confluence page, however when I try to insert the LeanIx macros, I do not see my presentation created in LeanIx.Is this intended for now and planned for future or I am missing something. Thanks,Awadhesh

API Integartion with Jira (CMDB)

I am seeking assistance with integrating assets from our Jira CMDB (Configuration Management Database) with LeanIX Factsheets and synchronizing specific fields between the two systems. Our goal is to ensure that data consistency is maintained across both systems, with Jira CMDB serving as the single source of truth for all information. However, we have encountered challenges related to middleware solutions, as our internal middleware Celium has not been approved for this purpose. I am Really A Rookie in this Topic, maybe you know a better approch for this Case.

L1 Applications - "Leave Empty" BCs and Orgs

I’ve searched documentation but cannot find guidance on the value vs effort of relating L1 applications to business capabilities and organizations. If an L1’s child applications (L2) are mapped appropriately to Business Capabilities and Organizations, why map L1 at all? The effort to do so is very duplicative and my users don’t want to do it. My thought is to “Leave Empty” these relations on L1 applications as it is effort without much value. What are your opinions?Example: An L1 application like “SAP ERP” and child applications like “SAP ERP CO”, etc.

How to include Application displayName in "Request Now" Action Button of Application Portal

As the title states, I have an Application Portal and when clicking on an application and the detail opening, there is a button for, “Request Now”. I’ve used the Portals in Administration to customize the action to “mailto: xxxxxx” our help desk, however, it would be awesome to dynamically include the application name that is being requested. Has anyone done this?

Hi all!I was integrating ServiceNow with LeanIX with the connector that LeanIX provides but the integration hasn’t been successful due to custom tables. My question is, what is the best APIs method to update factsheets?As I can see, I have these 3 options:API Rest: I do not see the option to update factsheets GraphQL: I believe that this option provides the solution that I am looking for Integrations: at this point, I am not sure what this option is forWhat would be the best solution for this integration with ServiceNow?Thank you:)
