Application Portfolio Management

Hi,For some time now, I have been looking for a way to display my subscribers in my diagram.Example:I have the application Confluence, and with a show dependency, I would like to display my manager/responsible linked to the information sheets. Is it possible to do this, or is it under development?Thank you :)

Hello,Just wondering if anyone tried mastering Application Interfaces in ServiceNow CMDB and export them to LeanIX Interface factsheets? We are planning to track out Application integrations in CMDB which would get this information from Middleware applications. Then, using cmdb_rel_ci table relationship is created between App A to App B (App1 → App2), using provided_by, used_by, depends_on, etc relationships. CMDB is used more for operational purposes - impact analysis, change/incident management, service mapping. While LeanIX should have “business view” of integration without technical details. We want to push this data to LeanIX, by creating one Interface factsheet per integration.Has anyone had this use case of getting integrations data from CMDB to LeanIX ? Thanks,Mantautas Daunys.

I'm looking to automate the management of applications nearing their End of Life (EOL) in LeanIX. I need to set up an automation that notifies the EA team, exports all data for these applications, and then effectively "archives" them within LeanIX. Any advice on the best approach, including webhook implementation for data export and suitable storage solutions?

Is there a known outage? As of about 35 minutes ago, just after 10am EDT, I am unable to open any fact sheet page. Dashboards, Inventory, Reports all appear but as soon as I try to open a Fact Sheet I just get a continuously refreshing progress bar at the top of the page.

Hi there, has anyone of you got Interface Discovery - a new capability of the SAP Discovery integration - up and running? If so, does it disccover interfaces properly?  We haven`t got it running yet. Tickets (SAP for Me) were already opened, but we seem running in circles. All configurations on the CALM & LeanIX side were made, but interfaces won`t be discovered, but should…Anyone else out there who`s using that feature? If not, why not?Thank you very much in advance for any response!BR Eric

Hi,Thanks for your interest in advance. I’ve got a bit of a ghost problem.I have created a new subscription Responsible, ‘First Point of Contact’ which gives me an easy way to delegate within my organisation. To date I have been using the ‘lead architect’ role to do this but it has not been right hence I’m trying to change it.I’m trying to use export/import to copy the current lead architect names into the new ‘First Point of Contact’  subscription. I’ve  enabled multiple subscriptions for the environment.I’ve uploaded the updated spreadsheets and it said it worked.howeverI can’t see any responsible ‘first point of contact’ in the interface or when I export the data into a spreadsheet. However (again)When I try to redo the upload, it errors to say they already exist…..but I can’t see them. Can anybody bust my ghost please? Thanks Paul

We have been working on modeling our Salesforce org into LeanIX differently than we originally implemented.  We have looked at the help files - Salesforce Applications Modeling Best Practices | SAP Help Portal   I was curious how people typically account for managed packages, especially when it is an application we already own.  For example... We have Five9 as its own app and we also have the Five9 CTI connector installed as a managed package in Salesforce.  In several cases we are paying for the connector so I am also curious how people track cost.

I have two questions about the new Self-Service SSO setup and migration. I have read the migration guide and watched the provided step-by-step video, but I find two items still not clear: Can the same IdP connection be used for multiple workspaces (e.g. production and sandbox)? The instructions only talk about "To add a new IdP” but never talk about any ability to re-use an existing connection that is in use for another workspace. Is that possible? If it is possible to use/share the same IdP connection across workspaces, then does LeanIX still recommend using different IdPs for production and sandbox (with two different Entra applications, one for prod and one for sandbox)?

Hi,I have a question regarding the ServiceNow–LeanIX integration. I’m trying to understand how to synchronize specific fields from ServiceNow into LeanIX.Our current source of truth is LeanIX, and the out-of-the-box integration performs a one-way synchronization from LeanIX to ServiceNow. However, we have a use case where the Accountable Manager is updated in ServiceNow and needs to be reflected back in LeanIX.Do you have any advice or recommendations on how to implement this? Also, do you know whether the out-of-the-box integration supports bi-directional synchronization for the same field?Regards,

Users who were previously assigned to specific access entities in LeanIX had these entities removed from their accounts. As a result, their access to the corresponding factsheets was revoked.

We have set up the Business Owner subscription to be required when creating a new application fact sheet but I want it to be optional and no longer required. Only the Application Owner should be required. When I go to change this, the "Mandatory" check box is greyed out and it says "This can only be changed in self-configuration". How do I change this so it's no longer required when creating a new fact sheet?

I'm confused about the relationship between Application Lifecycle and Business Capability dates in LeanIX.When I fill out an Application fact sheet, I can already specify the Lifecycle status (Plan, Phase In, Active, Phase Out, End of Life). However, when I map that same application to a Business Capability, the system asks me to enter 'Active From' and 'Active Until' dates again. For example, if a customer uses SAP and has already filled in the Application Lifecycle, why do I need to specify these dates again at the Business Capability level? What's the purpose of having both, and what's the difference between them? The distinction isn't clear to me

How on earth do you get the interfaces map to work?It is frustrating me to high heavens, and I am ready to cal it quits with the entire LeanIX MESS. I have active interfaces. I have Active provider applications. I have Active Consume Interfaces. Why on earth is there still a message about missing data? What is this Circle Map report looking at in order for it to include “inventory”.Whilst on the topic, shouldn’t it give a more descriptive set of data, or a “true” create from scratch reporting tool to get at least operational data out of the application? Help, please.

How to model Power Apps applications in LeanIX as they are huge in number and might consume license numbers but these applications are used locally which supports single capabilities?

Hi everyone,We’re preparing to import preliminary application data into LeanIX using Excel, but currently don’t have any External App IDs assigned to the applications.Looking for best practices or recommended formats that have worked well for generating unique, consistent, and persistent External App IDs—especially during the initial import phase.Any suggestions or examples from your experience would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi all, Trying to filter for all interfaces for a specific application as a provider “OR” as a consumer. This option is not available in the filter. Thank you.Best Regards, Hugo Gomes

Hi, we would like to set some automation to inform users about a Fact sheet is long time in broken seal status. How to get this information? Is this possible at all, maybe with graphql query? In addition would be nice to have a dashboard to make this information visible (which factsheet is since when in QS broken for example)thx for all the advice!

Hello to Everyone!I am new to this group, please redirect me to older post if this question has been answered in the past. I am basically trying to consolidate the business capabilities in my SAP LeanIX instance from non-standard capabilities (~380 of them) to standard. Is there a best/smarter way to do it?Thanks!RegardsSouvik

Hello,I have noticed that quite often in some domains a unique person can be the technical/it owner of multiple applications. This leads to that person not being able to properly update information in LeanIX or answer Surveys.Has anyone ever tried to handle this type of situations? Is there any framework or best practice that suggests a governing model for this?Because sometimes this could mean that there are actions that should be taken to avoid single points of failure.Thanks.

I have an application (App1) that is used in multiple regions. The application is linked to two business capabilities (BC1 and BC2). In LeanIX, the Functional Fit is defined on the Application ↔ Business Capability relation. My challenge is: The deployment is the same application instance across all regions. But Functional Fit is different per region (due to local laws/compliance differences). LeanIX allows me to assign the same capability only once to the application. Because “Region” on the relation is a multi-select, I cannot create a second entry of the same capability with a different Functional Fit. Example:Application Capability Region Functional Fit App1 BC1 NA Perfect App1 BC1 APAC Insufficient Is there a way to model this in LeanIX so that I can have different Functional Fit values per region, without creating duplicate Application fact sheets? What is the best practice here?

Hello Everyone! Recently, I have been working with a few customers that are currently working on integrating their IT landscape with another organization’s due to recent M&A activity. It’s no secret that M&A is extremely common for companies worldwide and has been growing in popularity since 2020. We also know M&A poses particular challenges for Enterprise Architects. With this in mind, I’d like to foster a conversation all about M&A and how LeanIX has helped you. Please include as many details as you are willing to provide! Some questions to get the conversation moving: If you were starting from scratch, looking back, what would be the first thing you’d do using LeanIX to support M&A? How has LeanIX changed your approach to M&A or alignment of IT systems? Do you have any proprietary frameworks/systems you like to use or created specifically to support your organizations’ goals with M&A? What automations have you designed within LeanIX to support IT int

Hi All We have the following subtypes in Organization factsheet:division business unit (child of division) legal entity region country (child of region) location (child of country)So basically 3 main categories (division, legal entity and geography).I am facing 2 issues, anyone have experience or proposal for that? I don’t want to create another factsheet type just because I’m missing a subtype filter...is there a solution I don’t see?Creating dashboards - I can’t select a subtype in a report builder, so I can’t get a nr of apps per division since I get a flatlist of everything. Creating surveys - I can’t send out a survey for App Managers to connect their apps to a country, because they have again a flatlist of everything mixed - very confusing for enduser to see a division, legal entity and country mixed and sorted by alphabet

Hi folks, Just curious as to whether anyone is currently including information on sub-processors for Applications/Vendors in LeanIX based on application reviews etc. If so, have you found value in doing so and what have you found to be the most manageable way to reference these so that they are reportable/searchable if required? Thanks Anthony.

Hello all,We’re in the process of uploading an application inventory for a new Business Organization. All Organizations share the same Business Capabilities Architectures. Although some organizations might use different Business Process coverage for the same application. For example: This example requires that App A’s Relation to Process A is applicable only for Org A (same for App B for Org B).We can specify that doing it FactSheet by FactSheet. The question is: Is it possible to do it using the import template? I was not able to see any relation attribute to specify it when exporting an application with this feature…Factsheet screenshot: Exported file ThanksPaco

Hi All - for each new application, we are performing an architecture assessment. We have 9 questions, each with 4 options that are rated 1-4.I’d like to create a calculated field that can get those values from 4 questions and create a calculation what is the total score Is it possible to somehow visually indicate for each answer (with colour etc) that the answer tends to be weak (e.g. not secure) or perfect fit to the landsscape. Is there a possibility to do that in LeanIX?
